The Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has warned that Prime Minister Boris Johnsons withdrawal agreement with the European Union “is not the Brexit we fought for” and claimed MPs who vote for the PMs withdrawal agreement will face a political challenge from Brexit Party candidates at the next general election.

Taking to Twitter Mr Farage wrote: “The withdrawal agreement as it stands is not the Brexit we fought for.

“Boris misled us but is now trying to make amends.

“MPs who vote for Brexit in name only will see campaigns launched against them in their seats. @brexitparty_uk”.

Former Brexit Party MEP Belinda de Lucy replied to Mr Farage saying: “Brexit makes our MPs far more accountable to the British people no more blaming the EU (eg for immigration/fish/tax) No wonder plenty of MPs still want it stopped with Brexit they have to honour their word, do a full days work and behave more than ever!”

@CTDees on Twitter responded to Mr Farage saying: “I’d vote for you Nigel (or your candidates) and I know lots who would also. There is a genuine room for change/ reform. Bring out the silent majority, you’ll see!”

Other members of the public who did not appear to be fans of Mr Farage came in with a more sceptical approach of Mr Farage’s claims, @andraswf on Twitter replied saying: “You literally withdraw your candidates last year to help Johnson pass the Withdrawal Agreement.

“I mean sure, most of your fans have an attention span of a gold fish, but the rest of us can remember.”
