A man had died after a street brawl at a housing estate in Battersea, south-west London yesterday, this adds to the growing number of issues the area has had to face in the last few weeks alone.
Police rushed to Charlotte Despard Avenue at 5.30pm yesterday evening following reports of a group of men fighting, however, officers, unfortunately, did not make it in time to split up the brawl as when they arrived on the scene the victim believed to be in his 40s was the only person still there.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement:
A crime scene and cordons have been established.
At this early stage officers from South West Command Unit investigate.
The assault came just weeks after a woman in her 20s was stabbed repeatedly on a nearby street.”
Paramedics and an air ambulance were urgently told to attend the scene but the victim was pronounced dead at 6.15pm.
A police cordon was in place around the scene of the brutal attack as officers work to try and establish the identity of the perpetrator.
