Trade Unions and Yellow Vest protestors have united today in a show of strength as trains were stopped, schools closed and towns brought to a standstill as they attempt to overthrow the Presidency of Emmanuelle Macron.
What marks out the protests in France as different is the fact that all political shades have come together against the oppressive rule of Macron. Likewise there has been widespread disgust at the use of rubber bullets on protestors which has resulted in death and injury.

Speaking about the strike, Secretary General of the CGT Philippe Martinez said: “When we begin to restrict individual and collective freedoms and our fundamental right to manifest, we are on a dangerous road.”
The CGT tweeted today: “For social and fiscal justice, for salary increases, for our jobs, for social security, for our pensions.”
Tens of thousands took to the streets in marches today with the largest being in Toulouse. This is again signs of further unrest as they are usually confined to the Weekend.
Macron meanwhile has proposed a referendum that would see the number of politicians cut but there appears to be a campaign to vote against the reforms as doing so would leave Macron no option but to resign.
