According to The Sun Iain Duncan-Smith last night “exploded” at senior Downing Street officials over how Boris Johnson has kept almost everyone in the dark over details of the negotiations. The popular Tory MP has since denied the claims, and said he did not lose his temper during the talks, but had disputed the legal grounding of the Prime Minister’s proposals.
Mark Francois, the deputy chair of the European Research Group, the staunch Brexiteer wing of the Tory party aiming for a full Brexit has said that ERG have “a number of concerns” about Boris Johnson’s Brexit proposals.
Speaking to Sky, he said he would give “very strong weight” to the views of the DUP when deciding whether or not to back a deal.
The Brexiteer also said that, if a deal has not been agreen in Brussels this week, he would not expect the emergency sitting of the House of Commons planned for Saturday to go ahead.
Downing Street are also downbeat on whether there will be a deal.
A Government source told ITV’s Robert Peston: “Chances of a deal are low. DUP seem unlikely to support anything that’s negotiable”.
This comes as remainers were pictured ready to go to Brussels with many on social media slamming them for going to collude with a foreign power. The cross party group includes divisive figures such as David Lammy & Dominic Grieve.
