12 GOOD REASONS TO ABOLISH THE TV LICENSE FEE submitted by John Henden
The Reasons:
Many BBC journalists are essentially political activists first; and journalists, second;
Complaints to BBC programme producers and to OffCom, concerning bias, mostly get nowhere.

TV viewers and radio listeners who want balanced and comprehensive news, are known to tune in to Al Jazeera or the French BBC-equivalent station.
Both BBC TV and Radio, present a restricted range of news items. Frequently, producers will ‘make news’ out of minor issues, if the topic fits with one of their political bandstand subjects. To compensate for the lack of news topics provided, programmes are padded out with members-of-the-public interviews; and/or journalists interviewing each other.
The British public has been turning away from the BBC and BBC News, particularly, for several years, most notably, younger age groups. Increasingly, other forms of media are being accessed281 Comments in moderation.
One specific form of bias concerns the BBC’s staging of debates on issues, where they have one person disagreeing with a subject and the other partially disagreeing. Usually the topic is one of the BBC’s pet political issues, within which they are pursuing their own agenda.
News programme interviewers shout down, talk over, and are generally rude and disrespectful to politicians whose political views are contrary to the Corporation’s (covert) political position.
BBC News programmes and documentaries are often comprised of items that fit the Corporation’s pet political biases. The bias in reporting betrays their editorial position.
Politicians (nb Boris Johnson), whose views the BBC dislike, are harried, bad-mouthed and pursued by a range of politico journalists over many years. This contrasts to their ‘pet’ politicians (eg Kenneth Clarke & Michael Heseltine), who are wheeled out on a too-frequent basis and are treated well.
Consistently, for years, the BBC was silent about the EU’s abuses and undemocratic practices, especially regarding the European Commission. They seemed concerned not to offend Eurocrats – especially those who are funding the Corporation.
The Corporation demonstrates arrogance towards those who rightly criticize its programme content and its continuing bias.
