HM Government is set to publish its strategy for post-Brexit trade negotiations with the European Union later as it prepares for formal negotiations with the bloc to begin.
The EU has already set out its aims of the talks saying that tariff-free trade is possible, but the UK must agree to abide EU rules on state aid, workers’ rights and other issues.
When the plan hit Downing Street it was immediately rejected with the prime minister saying he is prepared to walk away from post-Brexit talks if the EU’s demands are too drastic in the eyes of the government.
In a document published by the UK Government on Thursday, it read: “That means we will not agree to any obligations for our laws to be aligned with the EU’s, or the EU’s institutions, including the European Courts of Justice (ECJ) to have any jurisdiction in the UK.”

The government’s strategy is set to be put online and presented in Parliament.
The United Kingdom official left the European Union on the 31st of January, however, is continuing to abide by many EU rules while talks on a permanent trading relationship take place.

Brussels had demanded the UK continues to allow EU fishing fleets access to British water, threatening that there “won’t be any agreement at all” if that does not happen.
The PM entirely rejected this notion saying he would never “surrender” British fishing waters to the bloc.
