The rise and rise of Anti-Social Media

Things in the world of Big Tech are about to get shaken up and as far as this particular writer is concerned, not before time too! The monolithic, ‘progressive’ totalitarian edifice that brazenly; and ironically acts like Orwell’s Ministry of Truth that is Twitter and it’s hipster beard sporting wannabe fascist CEO Jack Dorsey, a man SO detached from reality that he needs to go on ridiculous week-long ‘retreats’ and starve himself just to remind himself that he’s a Human Being are, hopefully about to get a severe rap on the knuckles… at best!

We must all be aware now that the odious organisation decided in it’s infinitesimal wisdom to censure POTUS Donald Trump with a thoroughly specious ‘fact check’ on his tweets about postal voting and the potential for abuse of the system should it be implemented in any great numbers in the up-coming US Presidential Election. And the people charged with the task of passing judgment on the thoughts of the most powerful man the world? Well, none other than two stalwart news organisations with a reputation for impartiality that is beyond question, (I jest, of course): The Washington Post and CNN. No, really — at this point you couldn’t make it up! 

Twitter, like Facebook have for decades now enjoyed a very special privilege, that amounts to the fact they are granted a special immunity from any kind of legal action and that they have no liability when it comes to content posted on their site. They claim to be a ‘platform’, much like any telephone or mobile operator, and yet they have consistently proven themselves to be acting more like a publisher — and the thousands of forcibly deleted accounts, censored tweets and those that have been banned for life pays testament to THAT fact! The truth is that for far too long Twitter — as well as Google and Facebook, (who also share in this special immunity courtesy of the United States Government) has been acting like some kind of Schrödinger’s website! Is it a Platform?  Is it a Publisher? Who knows!? One thing is for certain, though — and that is that Twitter exerts a ferocious Double Standard when it comes to political discourse in what everyone knows is the modern day equivalent of the market square, only in this digital dystopia, those with the smallest voices at the fringes of public discourse aren’t welcomed into the center and given a platform from which their ideas and ideals can be challenged and if necessary; debunked — no they are unceremoniously hooded, gagged and bundled into the back of a metaphorical van never to be seen or heard from again. And all this whilst such questionable organisations as CNN and the Washington Post do nothing more than repeat the words provided from them by their shadowy owners in the case of CNN, who appear to have limitlessly deep pockets from which to throw their ideological bucks at an organisation that beyond its own front doors is merely a biased, propagandist laughingstock — and in the case of the Post the frankly creepy Jeff Bozos, a man with a very expensive axe to grind and very nearly the living embodiment of a Bond Villain Hell-bent on taking over the entire world.

It is being said that today, the Donald is going to sign an Executive Order regarding these antisocial media companies, and I for one — as someone that has suffered the ire of Twitter, having been ‘banned for life’ some 6 times now, sincerely trust that he strips them of their special immunity from prosecution — as I know for a FACT that when my first account was banned in the Great Twitter Purge of December 2016, they flouted their own Terms and Conditions on multiple occasions, and I’d personally just love to see them forced to reinstate All the banned accounts without any kind of redaction in order to see for ourselves just what kind of thoughts, words and ideas occupy the minds of the countless little people that Despotic Jack and his hoards of faceless digital STASI find so frightening that they require a kind of censorship of which the ruling Chinese Communist Party would be proud. And there’s the rub — in fact the Chinese propagandists get away with spouting all manner of rubbish — not least was the recent assertion that the COVID-19 (outbreak was the fault, somehow, of the US Military! But that’s not all — Twitter have a history of allowing the very worst kind of deviancy to go unchecked, and I talk of the so-called MAPs.

If you aren’t familiar with this term, MAPs are ‘Minor Attracted Persons’, or plain ordinary paedophiles in normal non-postmodern language. It really should come as no surprise though as the recently instated ‘Integrity Chief’, one Yoel Roth has a history of Orange Man Bad histrionics and no doubt also subscribes to the postmodern and frankly anti-human notions that surround the increasingly fascistic progressive lobby that march in lockstep under the rainbow flag and who believe that there are 96 genders and that 10 year old boys should be able to strip for money in front of a largely drunk adult audience and hide it behind the notion of child drag queens — and let’s not even think about the World Health Organisation that China appears to have pocketed at some point in the last few years that are now suggesting that children as young as 4 should be ‘taught’ about masturbation.

I’d lay even odds on the fact that, though would only apply to kids in the West — I can’t see the Chinese Government piling millions of their mostly ill-gotten gains into fomenting an entire generation of preschool kids getting hooked on porn and onanism, can you?

Of course, we here in the UK have our own problems with biased MSM, and the News night debacle centering Emily ‘Preying Mantis’ Maitlis just about sums THAT situation up perfectly.

Here’s hoping that POTUS does the right thing and revokes the special protections that Google, Twitter and Facebook bot at one and the same time exploit and hide behind, as, if you’ll forgive me mixing my metaphors, the opening of this box is less likely to reveal a cat that is both dead and alive — but more likely be akin, (to the Big Tech firms at least) to the horrors contained in Pandora’s Box.
