The Leader of the Brexit Party, Nigel Farage, has just sent out the following communication to his supporters:
The scenes in London and across the country over the weekend were disturbing. The BBC and much of the mainstream media may wish to portray the protests that took place as “peaceful” but they have not – and will not – convince me or millions of others.
On a weekend that marked the anniversary of D-Day, Sir Winston Churchill’s statue was defaced as agitators chanted: “Churchill is a racist”. Even at the Cenotaph, a monument to those who died for free speech and democracy, a young protester tried to set fire to the Union Flag. There is palpable public anger at the symbols of our nationhood being desecrated.
As far as I am concerned, the toppling of Edward Colston’s statue in Bristol on Sunday, amid hysterical screaming, marked the birth of the British Taliban.
I sympathise with the men and women of our police forces, but their bosses have completely failed us. Political leadership is in short supply, too. Watch my latest video and say no to anarchy on our streets.
