Police attacked overnight in London as 140 Officers injured over last 3 weeks

Kensington and Chelsea Police have confirmed that objects had been thrown at officers dispersing the crowd at an illegal street party near Colville Gardens last night.

“Violence will not be tolerated and units are responding appropriately.”

The Met later said most people had dispersed from the area by 02:00 and there were no confirmed reports of serious injuries.

This comes as it is confirmed that around 140 officers have been injured in London in the last three week according to Metropolitan Commissioner Cressida Dick.

Cressida Dick said the aggression shown to officers at recent illegal street parties in the capital has been “utterly unacceptable”.

She said the force had been on the lookout for unlicensed music events across the capital on Thursday evening and had “closed down several before they even got going”.

“These events are unlawful. They shouldn’t be happening and we have a duty to go and close them down and to disperse them.”
