British Government incredibly close to abandoning hope of striking a free trade deal with the EU

Reports are emerging that the British government is incredibly close to abandoning all hope of striking a free trade deal with the European Union.

Sources from within the government have said that they are now expecting the UK will trade with the EU countries on WTO terms after the end of the transition period on December the 31st.

The source says, the UK’s negotiating team led by David Frost, will not compromise on key issues such as access to British fishing waters. The source said: “The Government has been making it clear for a while that it is prepared for no deal. No trade deal has to be the working assumption”.
