The Metropolitan Police have released CCTV footage of a man that they wish to identify and talk to after a “horrific” attack outside a hospital in London. A woman, who is in her 40s was assaulted and raped outside St Thomas’s Hospital in Westminster in the early hours of the 12th of November 2019.
The man in the footage can be seen walking along a road in the capital just hours before the woman in her 40s was attacked near St Thomas’s Hospital. The attack occurred on Royal Street near the junction with Lambeth Park Road in the heart of central London.
Police were called out to reports of a rape at 1:23 am on the 12th of November 2019. An appeal for information regarding the attack was put out on the weeks BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow. The CCTV that was released by the police today shows a man wearing a dark jacket with the hood up.
Detective Sergeant Paul Barham who is investigating the incident has said: “This is clearly a horrific incident and we are doing all we can to support the woman and find who is responsible. The man in the CCTV is wearing distinctive clothing so I appeal to anyone who recognises these items of clothing or believes they know who the man is to contact us straightaway”.
UNN’s Oliver Down understands that currently, no arrests have been made; police enquiries are continuing, and the women attacked is currently being supported by specialist officers.
