Reports have emerged that three separate incidents have been reported to police in Bristol of men approaching and talking to schoolchildren from inside vehicles. These incidents are reported to all have occurred in the last two weeks.
UNN’s Oliver Down understands that detectives from Avon and Somerset Police are looking into and attempting to ascertain whether the three reports are linked. In addition to this neighbourhood officers have been carrying out ‘reassurance visits’ at three schools across the south of the city of Bristol.
The main local news organisation ‘Bristol Live’ have reported what is thought to be the most recent case. This incident involved a girl being approached and spoken to by two men sitting in a car close to the Oasis Academy school in the city. Thais incident is reported to have occurred on September the 30th.
However, local police have now confirmed they have been looking into two other similar accounts elsewhere in the South of Bristol recently. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police has said : “We’ve received reports of three incidents which have taken place during the past two weeks of men talking to children from inside vehicles. Neighbourhood officers have carried out reassurance visits at three South Bristol schools following a small number of suspicious incidents in the area. We continue to investigate the reports and are looking into whether they are linked. As part of our inquiry officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area while they’ve also conducted house to house enquiries”.
