A 16-year-old teenager who is too young for UNN to legally name was released from hospital yesterday where he’d been receiving treatment for dog bite injuries and has subsequently been charged by the police.
He was questioned by our detectives about the incident in the early hours of Saturday morning in which three-year-old Stark suffered facial cuts.
The teenager, who’s living in Handsworth, has been charged with possessing a bladed weapon and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected (service) animal under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
The teen has been bailed with conditions and due to appear at Birmingham Youth Court next month. His bail includes a condition to live and sleep at a specified address and to abide by a 7pm-7am curfew.
PD Stark is continuing his recovery at home where he’ll stay for around two weeks until his wounds have fully healed after receiving surgery.
