Smoke and mirrors in the vestibule: how the globalists kept their Great Reset quiet

So much power, yet so little mandate. Nobody voted for George Soros, Bill Gates or Klaus Schwab. Okay, Tony Blair was elected by the British people, but the only chamber he’d get voted into now is the international court for war crimes at The Hague.  These are not disparate figures who happen to be rich and influential, but prominent members of the global elite, which has been working behind the scenes for decades.

This masterclass meets regularly, through organisations such the World Economic Forum, Bilderberg Group and Trilateral Commission. But the proceedings are private, and publicity is managed very carefully.  Indeed, any criticism of these shadowy organisations is quickly confronted by counter-attack. Here is how it’s done: – 

1. Deploy reputable journalists and commentators  to alert the public to disinformation and to smear critics as conspiracy theorists
2. Give friendly academic experts a platform for psychological, social or forensic analysis of critics (see ‘The coming of the psychostate’ by MLR Smith and N McCrae https://www.cieo.org.uk/research/the-psycho-state-is-coming/ ) 
3. Encourage ridicule through satire and social media messaging
4. Promote the desired narrative as rational, moral and progressive, in contrast with the foolishness, nihilism and immorality of critics
5. Having successfully parried the attack, carry on as before

This public relations strategy has worked so well for the globalists, that they can now talk openly about the ‘Great Reset’ and still anyone raising concerns will be dismissed as a conspiracy theorist by mainstream media. A classic case of cooling off public interest when the heat was rising was this article ‘Beware the Trilateral Commission!’ by David Mills in the Washington Post, back in 1992. With a ‘Reds under the bed’ theme, Mills wrote: – 

‘Depending on which conspiracy theory you subscribe to, this 19-year-old organization is anti-American, anti-democratic, anti-Christian or anti-worker, and is scheming ultimately to abolish the sovereignty of nations and establish one world government!’

Judging by the tremendous progress of the globalists’ aims during the Covid-19 pandemic (further and faster than seemed possible with climate change alarm), this conspiracy theory was an actual conspiracy. The article targeted those who knew too much: libertarian Lyndon LaRouche; and Pat Buchanan, evangelical Christian and author of The New World Order (1991). Their followers, according to Mills, were mostly of far-right tendency, with some hard-leftists too. 

The Trilateral Commission, Mills assured, ‘seeks only to promote international cooperation, for the betterment of everybody – nothing sinister’. The 325 member of this body were certainly powerful. ‘They do run the world’, but their membership was irrelevant: ‘it is like a club for people who run the world anyway’.  You know: bankers, executives of major corporates, political leaders and suitably-placed scholars. 

Not declared was a conflict of interest: the Washington Post was within the Trilateral Commission’s orbit.  The media had been invited into this global cabal from the outset. Time magazine editor Strobe Talbott, a member for six years, told Mills that there was nothing of interest in the most powerful people in the world meeting in private: –  

‘These are people who don’t have to go halfway around the world for a good meal or a good bottle of wine. They come for something else, and that’s the content of the discussion.’

Scoffing at the idea of secrecy, Mills disingenuously stated that the Trilateral Commission’s annual reports were publicly available. But the meetings were (and continue to be) held behind closed doors. 

In those bargain bin books on conspiracy theories, you will find the Bilderberg Group and WEF described in the same way. What could be wrong in the global elite meeting to plan their further enrichment, while creating a surveillance state for the masses? Maybe we should be more grateful to our enlightened leaders, rather than interrupting their plots with petty nuisances such as free speech, democratic representation and transparency.
