I am saddened and shocked to learn that almost three dozen women have experienced miscarriages or stillbirths after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. These are cases reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. However, it is estimated that less than 1% of vaccine reactions are reported via this system.
MHRA Yellow Card Scheme – Reports
The Government have released weekly reports on adverse reactions to the experimental Covid-19 vaccines.
According to the 7th report released by the UK Government up to 7th March 2021, there has been a significant increase since 24th January in the number of women who have lost their unborn child after having the Pfizer vaccine, bringing the total to 23. Sadly there is now 1 report of a premature baby dying after the mother had the Pfizer vaccine.
The AstraZeneca jab has also seen an increase, bringing the total to 5. Tragically there has also been 1 stillbirth reported after the mother had the AstraZeneca vaccine, shockingly this has not been labelled as a fatality.
Just 6 weeks separate the 1st and 7th report, outlining a shocking increase in the number of women losing their unborn and new born child after having the Pfizer or AstraZeneca Covid vaccine.
Of course reports made to VAERS system does not necessarily mean that the Covid-19 “vaccine” caused the event or reaction. Research suggests between 10%-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage.
However, the precautionary principle should always be applied and a risk/benefit analysis undertaken.
Pregnancy and Coronavirus Risk
Guidelines were published by The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists/Royal College of Midwives/Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health – with input from the Royal College of Anaesthetists/The Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association/Public Health England and Public Health Scotland.
They report “studies from the UK show that pregnant women are no more likely to get Covid-19 than other healthy adults. Roughly 2/3rds of pregnant women with Covid-19 have no symptoms at all, and most pregnant women who do have symptoms only have mild cold or flu-like symptoms. A small number of pregnant women can become unwell with Covid-19.”
Pregnancy and Covid-19 Vaccination Risk
The World Health Organization does not recommend vaccination of pregnant women due to “insufficient data”. Pregnant women were excluded from clinical trials.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) confirms that although the available data does not indicate any safety concern or harm to pregnancy, there is insufficient evidence to recommend routine use of COVID-19 vaccines during pregnancy.
What does the UK’s MHRA say about Covid-19 Vaccines and Fertility?
In its guidance to healthcare providers, the MHRA states that the Pfizer/BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine long-term effects on pregnancy and fertility hasn’t been studied extensively.
Pregnancy
- There are no or limited amount of data from the use of COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2. Animal reproductive toxicity studies have not been completed. COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 is not recommended during pregnancy.
- For women of childbearing age, pregnancy should be excluded before vaccination. In addition, women of childbearing age should be advised to avoid pregnancy for at least 2 months after their second dose.
Breast-feeding
- It is unknown whether COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 is excreted in human milk. A risk to the newborns/infants cannot be excluded. COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 should not be used during breast-feeding.
Fertility
- It is unknown whether COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 has an impact on fertility.
These guidelines recommend that healthcare providers ensure that the people they vaccinate aren’t pregnant, and that they should not try to become pregnant up to 2 months after their second dose. This is not because the vaccine is suspected to be dangerous—it’s because there isn’t data supporting that it’s perfectly safe.
At this point, I would like to state that I am not medically qualified, this article does not constitute medical advice. It does however, contain genuine statistics and information together with my opinion/analysis.
Analysis
In Phase 3 trial data that Pfizer/BioNTech submitted to global regulatory authorities, they state:-
“We do not intend to test the vaccine on pregnant women. This is because it is generally considered unethical to include pregnant women in clinical trials.
Female study participants of childbearing potential were screened for pregnancy prior to each vaccination, with a positive test resulting in exclusion or discontinuation from vaccination.” (see p.42) https://www.fda.gov/media/144245/download
So, if pregnant women were excluded from clinical trials on ethical grounds isn’t it concerning that a vaccine still in an experimental phase is being recommended and administered to pregnant women?
Under the Hippocratic oath, the first duty of a doctor is do no harm.
Informed consent is one of the most fundamental ethics in medicine and a human right recognised under international law. Is this being breached?
