Certain Covid measures should be kept in place in England after the 19th of July when all legal restrictions are supposed to be lifted.
The British Medical Association is calling for the continued use of face masks and other restrictions.
It says it is crucial to protect the NHS, health and education amid what it says is an alarming rise in cases.
This comes as people who have received two vaccination doses are to be exempted from quarantinbe.
A Downing Street source said the need for isolation or daily tests for those who had received two coronavirus injections could be removed on 19 July.
But he reiterated that some “extra precautions” may still be needed.
