Two soldiers based at an Army garrison in North Yorkshire died at the weekend, it has been confirmed.
Police were called to Catterick Garrison on Saturday morning after the “sudden death” of a 33-year-old man.
An 18-year-old man was found on Sunday on railway tracks in Wythenshawe, Manchester, and pronounced dead at the scene, British Transport Police said.
Both deaths are being investigated, but police added that neither was being treated as suspicious according to a statement.
“The circumstances surrounding these deaths are being investigated and it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time.
Our thoughts are with the soldiers’ family and friends at this difficult time.”
Police said they were assisting in preparing reports for the coroner.
