A Summer Tour of ‘Drag Queen Story Hour UK’ has been launched and we are investigating where this organisation is funded and whether any public monies are used:

The say about themselves:
Drag Queen Story Hour UK provide fun and interactive kids shows with amazing and talented drag performers! Drag Queen Story Hour UK wants to show the world that being different is not a bad thing, and by providing imaginative role models for children to look up to, we can change the world book by book!
We bring you 5-star performers who have performed all across the UK in schools, festivals, museums, nurseries, private events and more! Drag Queen Story Hour UK has been honoured to have performers who have been received so positively all across the country.
While initially just one performer, Drag Queen Story Hour UK now has multiple performers based across the whole of the UK.
The founder of this is an Aida H Dee who describes themselves as a Published author, ADHD, Autistic, Director.

On their Twitter page there are numerous posts of shows in front of Children across the UK and they describe themselves as a ‘Published author, ADHD, Autistic, Director’.
With regards Child Safety they state on the website:
Child and Performer Safety
We understand safety, so as standard all performers on our team will hold at a minimum a valid Basic DBS check. Not only are our DBS checks performed regularly, we train all our story-tellers in child to performer interaction, inclusivity training for audience members who may have physical or mental disabilities, and how to answer FAQ by children.
