The government want to create the illusion that the public back the very same Ukraine policies which are harming them
This Friday the government have decided that we must have “a national moment of silence” to mark “one year of Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
They have gone even further to ensure compliance with this dictate by using taxpayers money to encourage individuals, organisations and local authorities to participate.
At present we do not know the total costs, but it seems that anything to do with promoting the government’s cause in Ukraine is immune from any financial restraints.
The government press release on this event has been issued by the government’s Ministry of propaganda: the Department for Digital, Culture and Media, and with the intention of giving the illusion that the majority of the public support the government’s policies on Ukraine.
They never have and have never been asked and the fact is that since the conflict started the government( disgracefully supported by the so called Opposition) has denied open and honest debate on the subject.
Key to this situation is the fact that it is not in the UK’s interests to be involved in the conflict, yet the government seems determined to support globalist vested interests rather than those of the British people.
The government press release is full of distortions, yet Rishi Sunak’s government was supposed to be one of truth, integrity and transparency.
The Prime Minister has simply followed the disastrous Ukraine policies of his predecessors, set by Boris Johnson and continued by Liz Truss..
These policies of propping up a corrupt Zelensky government which has forced the male population into conscription, and which have increased their death rates by thousands, in reality puts blood on the hands of the British government. Anyone with any real knowledge of the situation is aware that the Ukraine government will lose this war, despite any further expensive weaponry provided by some countries including our own.
The British public have been fed a diet of dishonesty by the government since the conflict began.
They could have avoided it but were only intent in encouraging the continuance of bloodshed.
The press release makes no mention of the fact that Ukraine has been shelling eastern Ukraine since 2014 and before.
It makes no mention of the fact that thousands of armed forces and civilians of two countries have suffered death and injury, yet “the moment of reflection” we are instructed, is “to pay tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people.” It is quite frankly disgusting, inhumane and immoral to recognise only one nation’s suffering to the exclusion of another’s.
It smacks of hatred for another nation and is against the Christian principles of our nation.
The press release states that the “moment of reflection” will “demonstrate the UK’s unwavering solidarity” with Ukraine.
The reality is that we probably have less solidarity with Ukraine, than many other countries.
The press release also refers to the Ukraine cause being one of “the pursuit of freedom, which is blatant untruth as there is little freedom in that country, with opposition political parties, media and Churches shut down by the Zelensky government.
Many Ukrainians want to be consulted so the war can be brought to a swift end, but their views count for nothing with their government. At least in the five regions of Ukraine which are now part of Russia, they had referenda to enable democratic consent.
As for refugees, there are about 8 million and a few million displaced in Ukraine itself. If the UK had not prevented the peace process last April the refugee problem would not be on the huge scale that it now is.
The country which has taken the largest number of refugees is Russia, with 2.9 million refugees, but our government is not honest about that either.
The UK has about 150,000 Ukrainian refugees costing the taxpayer £1,5 bn a year.
The press release also referred to the visit of President Zelensky to the UK, who came with his begging bowl for heavy armaments and more support.
To many of us, it was a total embarrassment to see our politicians fawn over a man who we see as a corrupt clown with no interest in the Ukrainian people.
What our Prime Minister needs to be reminded of is that he has NO mandate to offer to support Ukraine at all, let alone for the long term, which he should never have done.
Anyone hoodwinked by the government to kowtow to the government’s one minute “tribute” to Zelensky’s Ukraine, will unwittingly be used as supporting the government’s policies on Ukraine and Russia.
The government will say the UK public are happy to suffer as a result of these government policies, which have caused the energy, economy, cost of living and most of the financial shortfall problems we have today. Virtually everything from strikes to tax increases can be fairly blamed on these policies.
So to stand in tribute to Ukraine will be taken as standing in tribute to the government’s policies, and anyone who goes along with the government’s stipulations, will be effectively agreeing to a form of national suicide.
If we were to have a minutes tribute to any country, a good candidate would be Afghanistan. We were there for 20 years and by betraying the Afghan people to warmonger in Ukraine, we let down the thousands of our own and Afghan veterans, plus abandoning democracy, human rights and rights for women. That involvement cost a billion a year compared with Ukraine’s direct cost of £10bn in a year plus the ruination of our economic and financial situation.
We must not act as Sunak’s and Zelensky’s poodles and this “tribute” should be ignored.
In the meantime a new petition to end the government’s Ukraine and Russia policies has started it needs to be widely signed and shared.
That is the most likely way of ending these Zelensky first policies and to at long last put the UK first:
