A MINIVAN slammed into New Year’s Day revellers in Tokyo injuring at least nine people – walking to a shrine to pray for good luck in 2019.
Police arrested a 21-year-old who fled the horror scene – later identified as Kazuhiro Kusakabe – on suspicion of attempted murder.
Reports from the scene suggest that gas canisters were also found to be within the rented minivan. It is not yet known the reasons behind this attack.

A suspected Islamic Terror Attack also took place in Manchester at the Victoria Tram station where a crazed knifeman went on a rampage shouting Allah U Akhbar.
A BBC producer who witnessed it live said:
I just heard this most blood curdling scream and looked down the platform.
What it looked like was a guy in his 60s with a woman of similar age and another guy all dressed in black.
It looked like they were having a fight but she was screaming in this blood curdling way.
I saw police in high-viz come towards him.
He came towards me. I looked down and saw he had a kitchen knife with a black handle with a good, 12 inch blade.
He said ‘As long as you keep bombing other countries this sort of shit is going to keep happening’.”
Two members of the public have been taken two hospital while a BTP Police Officer is being treated for a stab wound to the shoulder.
