Once more we are delighted to host an article by the campaign group ‘The People’s Brexit’. They are a group of academics and thinkers who are arguing that we have been betrayed since 1972. Please read below now and we welcome any feedback you may have by commenting on our social media channels and sharing to other people:
What we have seen over the last few months with Conservative Prime Minister, Theresa May and her Government betraying Democracy and the British People is nothing new! In fact it is history repeating itself, as this is the second time this has happened over the EEC/EU in less than 50 years. Or even the third time, if you count the betrayal of Conservative Prime Minister, John Major, over signing up to the Maastricht Treaty in 1992, and with no Referendum of the People. Of course we are not even including the betrayals of the Labour Prime Ministers, such as Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Harold Wilson in this article.
However painful this current betrayal has been and is, the first Conservative Prime Minister betrayal by Edward Heath, was literally billions of times worse, as this betrayal has cost the UK literally many billions of pounds over the years, wrecked the UK economy throughout the entire 1970s (and before), caused widespread unemployment well into the 1980s, almost bankrupting the country with the extortionate costs demanded by and imposed on the UK by the then EEC. There was also great hardship caused to some Commonwealth countries, as we were no longer permitted to buy from them. Our fishing industry was nearly destroyed along with our agriculture industry. Also, something that can never be quantified is the lost potential of how the UK could have been in almost 50 years if we could have stayed an independent country; enjoying the benefits of the Commonwealth, free world trade and Democracy over our own affairs. It is only because of the hard work and resilience and adaptability of the British People, that the damage caused was not permanent and that we are enjoying a quite successful economy today. Something else that can never be mentioned enough, is the betrayal of those who fought in two World Wars for the Democracy that Heath and the rest of the corrupt politicians gave away to former enemies and the EEC, which was an organisation set up by former Nazis, who lost the War but wanted to win the peace. In the early 1970s many Veterans of both of these Wars were still alive to witness this betrayal.
If this had been a decision that the People of the UK had been responsible for and they had just made the wrong decision it could be almost accepted as a grave almost fatal mistake. However, it was a decision, one of the most important decisions ever made in the history of the UK, that the People had no say in whatsoever. Much worse than this, they were deliberately excluded from the whole process, lied to, deceived, misled, brainwashed and denied their Democracy by their elected politicians. The sole reason for this is that the politicians knew that the People did not want to join the EEC, by an astonishing majority of over 83%, in the biggest poll of the time (the Labour Party Conference of October 1971, when a poll of over 6 million members voted over 5 million to 1 million against joining). The sad reality is that if the People had been consulted and given the final say about whether or not to join the EEC/EU, and the politicians had honoured that say, we would not be in this mess we are in at all. The country would not be divided as it currently is due to EU brainwashing and we would all be better off in every way. The fact is despite the lies, brainwashing and the Establishment myth to the contrary, the UK did not join the EEC/EU in a legal and Democratic way.
So how was it possible for the politicians to lie to, deceive and exclude the People in this way? The simple answer to this is the lack of information given by the Government, brainwashing, blatant lies and denying Democracy! Back in those days obviously there was no internet, where we can now get so much of our information and share our opinions. People had only newspapers and limited television that they could get any of their information from and they were subject to the same bias that we encounter today regarding the EU. The only two newspapers that could be relied upon to be unbiased with the scant information they had, was the Daily Express and the Communist newspaper, Morning Star. Further, Parliament was still un-televised and so any reporting was reliant upon the physical presence of a reporter and as some debates were late at night or early in the morning this was sporadic at best. The biggest lie about the EEC/EU is that it was about trade, but it was never about trade, it was always about politics and creating a federal European super state with its own currency and laws, this was known by the UK politicians from the start in the late 1950s and obviously kept secret from the People. Even not knowing anything about the true intentions, the People of the UK still did not want to join the EEC.
From 1961 onwards there were numerous calls for a Referendum or a General Election on the issue of joining the EEC/EU but these were always denied. There was even legislation in place, actioned by Tony Benn, for a Referendum prior to joining on 1/1/73 but this was never used, as the Government knew it would lose heavily, there would have to be resignations and they would not be then able to force entry upon the UK.
In the June 1970 General Election the People had the choice from Lib/Lab and Con ALL of which were led by ardent Pro-EEC fanatics. Heath did not have a Mandate from the People to join the EEC, only merely to negotiate. Between June 1970 and February 1974 they had only By-Elections that they could protest vote in. This was a shameful denial of Democracy when the other three EEC applicant countries at the time, Denmark, Ireland and Norway, all had Referendums upon whether or not they wished to join and Norway opted not to join.
The People of 2016 had a booklet on the Referendum sent to each household by PM David Cameron, at the cost to the taxpayer of £10 million, about the options of Remain or Leave, of course biased towards Remain. However, for the People of 1971 who should have had a vote on whether or not to enter the EEC, shockingly they received nothing at all! The Government produced a small amount of factsheets, of which there were 11 in total about different aspects of entry to the EEC, diluting the information (none giving the case for not entering!) totalling ten million in all; which equated to less than one million of each fact sheet, for the whole country. These were distributed by the Post Office for customers to collect from Post Offices; along with five and a half million copies of a shortened, favourably edited version of the White Paper of July 1971. A television advert was made advertising these factsheets but was never screened. This was a deliberate plot so that as few of the electorate got to see these Government produced documents as possible. This was in stark contrast to a booklet, ‘Your Guide to Decimal Money’ produced in the same year, 1971, which was mailed to each household.
Despicable does not even go there to describe how Heath and his Government and other supporters of the EEC, including the Liberal Party and some Labour MPs, treated the People of the UK and even Parliament with the devious tactics used to force the UK into the EU. Heath was financially well rewarded by his EEC masters, receiving the Charlemagne prize in 1963 and £30,000 (equivalent to over a million today) and another prize in 1972 rewarding him for signing the UK to the EEC with an unknown substantial cash element. These are just the rewards that we know of, but we do know that bribery is rife within the corrupt world of the EEC/EU!
This article provides just a very brief glimpse into a very murky world of EEC/EU lies and deception by despicable people motivated by greed, arrogance and other reasons and forces.
Why should the UK People of 2019 be slaves to the EU still, especially as we should never have been in it the first place? We are now literally paying for the sins of our corrupt past and current politicians! The way forward now is to vote every time for The Brexit Party to achieve a WTO Brexit and if you have not already, join now as a Registered Supporter, as we are. It is the Lib/Lab/Con politics that have got us into this mess in the first place, we now need to abandon them for good. Politics needs to take a new course in the 21st Century with The Brexit Party, which will grow and evolve with something that the three main parties have themselves abandoned, Democracy.
We, The People’s Brexit, have been motivated into action by the deception and betrayal of our 21st Century politicians carrying on from their 20th Century predecessors. Like The Brexit Party MEP candidates who found themselves standing for election, we are amazed to find ourselves working as academics and researchers for Brexit, researching and writing about the history of the EEC/EU lies, deception and injustice for Brexit! This article really is just the merest tip of a very big iceberg of corruption, deviousness and lies told, please support us in our work for Brexit, Democracy and the future of the UK by purchasing our book; Brexit: The Heath and EEC Conspiracy – The Truth in Brief, available on Amazon, and study it and find out for yourself more about the real truth and sordid details behind the UK membership of the EEC/EU.
Education of the public of the real facts behind the UK being forced into the EU is vital to us, Brexit and to the legal action we are planning against the Government and the EU regarding the UK being illegally forced into the EU and to finally get justice for the UK, ourselves and the generations that went before us. Please support us with this now and in the future.
