‘Comedian’ and performer Jo Brand was on BBC Radio 4 last night where the conversation got round to politics and she has made remarks that have left most decent people in the UK absolutely repulsed and questioning why these views are not being challenged.
This milkshake ‘craze’ started initially with it happening twice in a row to Tommy Robinson with the first attack by a Muslim protester who was subsequently escorted to the train station by the Police, there are unconfirmed reports that he has now been charged with this.
Many senior political & media figures such as Johnny Mercer MP and also Kevin Maguire, Daily Mirror editor, reacted with glee at the initial attack with many pointing out to them that regardless of views on Tommy Robinson it sets a frightening precedent. Likewise they pointed out that the attacks could escalate into something even more sinister.
Carl Benjamin, AKA Sargon of Akkad, was alsp on the receiving end of two milkshake attacks during the EU election campaign and it is thought both suspects have been charged. They appear to have been representatives of the militant leftist group ANTIFA.
Further to the milkshake attack on Nigel Farage. Paul Crowther aged 32, was immediately arrested and Nigel Farage has intimated that he will press charges. The individual involved will most likely lose his livelihood as a result.
As we reported and also investigated Ruth Townsley was outed as an employee of a charity called Happy City. She tweeted out that she would rather Acid had been used on Mr Farage instead of milkshake. A series of other tweets were then unearthed that revealed she had promoted violence against politicians before. Happy City came under extreme pressure on social media and have announced that she is no longer with the charity.
According to respect political blog Guido Fawkes Jo Brand has now waded into the debate and they have stated that it appears to be one rule for some and one rule for the others when it comes to incitement to violence even if it is only meant as a joke:
Last night on Radio 4 (where else?) leftie luvvie Jo Brand fantasised about throwing acid over politicians she doesn’t like. Making the kind of joke that leaves a bad taste, she told Victoria Coren Mitchell “why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?” It’s okay because Jo is left wing so she’s really compassionate…
“Certain unpleasant characters are being thrown to the fore, and they’re very, very easy to hate, and I’m kind of thinking, why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?
That’s just me, sorry, I’m not gonna do it, it’s purely a fantasy, but I think milk shakes are pathetic, I honestly do. Sorry.”
She’s not the first to promote an acid attack. Nigel Farage tells Guido: “This is incitement of violence and the police need to act.”
As of yet we have not heard whether the Police are preparing to take action but the scourge of Milkshake attacks appears to now be seen by the hard left as a legitimate form of attack and it is coming with tacit endorsement by prominent media figures, politicians and celebrities.
