Farage ridicules PM Johnson over Brexit ‘He wants a withdrawal agreement’

Despite the ‘Boris bounce’ that has occurred in recent opinion polls many Brexiteers have spoken out with alarm at Mr Johnson’s letter to the president of the European Council Donald Tusk. Whilst many backed Mr Johnson’s red line on the removal of the “anti-democratic” backstop, others have suggested that this is only one of a litany of issues with Theresa May’s so-called withdrawal agreement.

The leader of the Brexit party Nigel Farage slammed Boris Johnson on his LBC show saying that Mr Johnson was jetting around European cities like Mrs May and that “Boris wants to have a withdrawal agreement”.

As many will know, Mrs May’s deal has been resoundingly defeated in the Commons on three occasions. Figures across Europe have commented on the so-called deal and former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis stated that this was “a deal a nation signs only after having been defeated at war”.Some sections have questioned Boris Johnson’s Brexit credentials and the absence of any suggested further changes seems to be in juxtaposition to his recent rhetoric around leaving on the 31st of October “do or die”.

Whilst these developments seem to have been missed by the MSM, Tom Slater from the Spiked-online feels these developments are extremely important. He stated that Boris Johnson’s plans constituted “a deal that bins the backstop but keeps all the other humiliating May-era measures. Polishing the turd. Dolling up the pig. Pick your cliché, but that’s all that’s on offer.” With parliament reconvening next week with Mr Johnson looking set to battle a remain dominated chamber and with certain areas of the Brexit side doubting him, as well as the EU seemingly unwilling to cooperate, his job may have just got a little harder.
