MP for Bradford West Naz Shah says she’s honoured with her new appointment within the Labour party.
Shah has been named as Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion as Keir Starmer attempts to create a party for Government.
She tweeted: “It’s a huge honour to announce that I will be joining Keir Starmer’s frontbench in Steve Reed MP’s Shadow Communities and Local Government team as Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion.”
News of Shah’s appointment comes after Bradford East MP Imran Hussain was named Labour’s Shadow Employment Rights Minister.
London Assembly member David Kurten slammed the appointment with reference to a message that was ‘liked’ from her account saying: “New Labour leader Keir Starmer has appointed Naz ‘victims of abuse in Rotherham should shut their mouths for the good of diversity’ Shah as the Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion. This is a slap in the face to the victims of this hideous crime.”
