Nigel Farage AMBUSHED on Italian TV but delivers STUNNING rebuke to the panel!

Nigel Farage recently appeared on Italian Television to discuss the EU and its decision to block the budget of its Member State Italy

When Mr Farage was asked how he would describe Brussels’ attitude towards the growing eurosceptic sentiment on the Continent, he replied:

“I think it’s just a form of bullying from the gangsters in Brussels threatening elected politicians.

Let’s face it, the Five Star Movement has won the general elections as the legitimate majority party. and to talk down to them this way, I think is a disgrace.”

Alessandro Sallusti, director of Berlusconi’s Daily Il Giornale, hit back at the British MEP saying he should be more focused on Brexit rather than Italy saying:

“I don’t see why since the UK is leaving Europe Mr Farage is preoccupied with European affairs.

I think Europe without the UK is certainly less Europe. So he should worry about the UK as his country will have serious problems after Brexit.”

But Mr Farage promptly responded:

“Look, whether we’re part of a political union or not that doesn’t mean we don’t care about Europe.

It’s our history, our histories are connected in all sorts of ways, so of course we care.

There is a big history for my country of caring about the state of democracy in Europe.

We stood up against European dictatorships, and frankly, this Commission is starting to look like one.”

Italian author Michela Murgia also piled in on the attacks against Mr Farage saying:

“I’m shocked by these statements. In England, thousands of people took it to the streets to ask for the opportunity to have a second vote against Brexit because in the last two years the consequence has been a big loss of jobs.

Reuters has reported £52billion has been lost in the last two years after the referendum. There’s nothing to be happy about and there’s certainly nothing to imitate in a choice such as Brexit.

If Europe is inviting member states to be cautious it’s because of the international agreements we have.

I don’t see where this surrender of sovereignty comes in. The point is this is the relationship with Europe, we can discuss the nature of this relationship but not the reason behind the existence of such relationship.”

Farage won the argument in the end by quietening the panel down saying:

Look, I’m sorry but facts are quite important. Unemployment for the United Kingdom is at the lowest it’s been since 1974.

We had the UK budget yesterday where I must admit I was surprised, our deficit has reduced very sharply since we voted to leave the European Union.

So I tell you what, we’re doing just fine. But these arguments are much bigger than just the economics, are much bigger than whether we’re going to be better off or worse off.

These are fundamental arguments about democracy!”
