Owen Jones frequently appears on our screens in tirades against the political system which although well meaning frequently result in him crying or storming off the set.
The Political website Order Order/ Guido Fawkes has done an excellent piece of investigative work into Owen’s past and revealed that his tolerance for opposing views is not particularly strong.
Guido said:
Fascism is a word that Owen Jones is usually very careful with. He has repeatedly stated that authoritarian leaders like General Pinochet could not be classified as fascists. Recently though Owen has been using the word with aplomb, saying that the Prime Minister of India, and President of the US are “sympathetic to” fascists, calling Italy’s Governing Lega Nord “semi-fascist”, and calling Brazil’s new President-elect, Jair Bolsonaro, an “overt fascist”. He has tweeted the word seventeen times this week alone.
In Owen’s eyes there is a global crisis of fascism and fascists around every corner. Fascists who can only be stopped by the hard-left.
He then sensationally revealed some of Owen’s comments as a younger man when he wrote in the ‘Marxist-Leninist’ Facebook Group:
Unity News Opinion- The left and Labour Party in this country and around the world are in the midst of an existential crisis. While many can agree or sympathise that the current economic system is heavily weighted in favour of the elites and globalists their social dogma makes them unelectable for many. Their sneering criticism of working class Brexit voters risks them losing out massively in traditional Labour supporting areas.
Trump, Salvini & Bolsonaro were all elected on the back of working class voters who are sick and tired of Political Correctness, uncontrolled immigration & policies that disproportionately help the wealthy. They have also promised and are putting their people and nation’s first.
Owen is typical of many on the Labour side that they now describe anyone with a different political view as fascists in their attempts to silence them. By saying that he was prepared to go as far as KILLING anyone he deems to be a fascist is absolutely outrageous and surely has no place in the Labour Party. Jones is of course a huge ally and supporter of Jeremy Corbyn so will they disavow him? We think not!
