Letter to my MP re 2020
I expect you’re too busy to reply to my last few missives. However, this devastating situation continues and people out here are frantic with worry.
I want to give you a view of things from my own personal perspective.
My partner is a director of his own home-based business. This has now been directly affected by the crashing economy and we are now having to consider other ways of handling our finances and our business, which at our stage in life (we are in our sixties) is going to have detrimental effects down the road. We are not entitled to any Government help. The state pension I should have, by now received is not available to me for another six years, despite attempts through the High Court, this Summer, to change this.
Our wedding, which was planned for September, was postponed until next Spring and even now, we cannot issue any invitations or plan anything concrete because of this situation. We have also had to scale it down (not that it was massive in the first place). We are unsure whether this will go ahead as planned next Spring.
My mother is in late stage dementia; she lives over 300 miles away and is clearly not in a fit state to look after herself so carers are going in and my sister, who lives a few miles from her, is going in regularly to ensure she eats and takes her medication. She is increasingly confused but the system is ignoring her because she did not put a Power of Attorney in place for myself and my sister, before she descended into the depths of vileness that this illness inflicts on his victims. Because of the various lockdowns and other restrictions, I have been unable to play any significant part in helping her or my sister, this year and the way things are, I may well never see her alive again. The System is too busy helping illegal outsiders to be bothered with people like my mother. I’m sure The System would prefer she should just die instead of being a drain on resources. Even if she was entitled to care home accommodation, I’m sure she would be finished off with a dose of Covid, given the handling of this crisis by this Government. Not that anyone other than our family would give a damn.
We were also prevented from seeing vital stages in the development of our grandchildren earlier in the year and are now having to put up with the prospect of that yet again. Christmas is looking improbable and to try and look beyond that into 2021 is virtually impossible for any kind of forward planning. My older grandson’s (6) education has been disrupted and has resulted in some behavioural problems due to lack of interaction with school friends, devastation of routine and structure etc, despite the momentous efforts of my daughter and son-in-law who have gone to great lengths to home educate both of them, whilst holding down jobs – my daughter an NHS worker and my son-in-law an accountant who has been required to work from home.
Our own social life is practically non-existent and even a visit to the shops or a restaurant, of late, have been joyless experiences. The rules on the wearing of face muzzles and the timings of pub closures for example, are absurd in the extreme. We can’t catch Covid sitting at a table eating or drinking but we can catch it on the way to the lavatory? Really? We are being treated like CHILDREN in a nursery, told which mats we can sit on and given books to read by the teacher and then told when we can go for lunch and who we can sit with. For God’s sake! The effects on my mental and physical health have been marked but I can’t visit the doctor’s surgery for a consultation; “telephone triage” is a joke, so I put up with it!
Our entire way of life has been disrupted not only by the Covid situation but also by the astonishing rise of the “Woke” culture that suffocates every single level of Government, both local and national. We are having to contend with continually being told we are “racists” and “white supremacists” and even come under criticism for being “boomers” (which is usually levelled as an insult). “Critical race theory”, “unconscious bias training” and other crackpot Wokeist narratives and schemes now infest the education system, as well as other Government departments and now even private companies where employees can be sacked just for putting “all lives matter” on Twitter and Facebook! Women are “people who bleed” (because it’s an insult to trans men to say that only women menstruate) and primary school children are being told they can choose a different sex. Words are now being policed both on and off the internet and people can fall over verbal “trip wires” for the most innocuous of comments. Individuals are pursued on social media and have their lives and livelihoods devastated by hordes of rabid “Woke” fanatics for the most minor transgression. I know – because it happened to me before it was “trendy”.
This is a dangerous road to a Communist Hellscape of immense proportions and it must be shut off as soon as possible.
We have witnessed our culture and history under attack, our city streets rampaged by BLM yobs (an organisation that has little to do at all with black lives and more to do with Communism; check out their website) and Extinction Rebellion zealots who, paradoxically, seem intent on trashing the environment and running up a huge “carbon footprint”, totally contrary to their stated aims, whilst dictating to the rest of us how to live and stopping ambulances reaching emergencies. Not to mention being a bloody nuisance by sticking themselves to pavements. Absurd! We even have a former senior member of our royal family and his wife telling us how we should all live, from the luxury of their gated mansion in California!
When anti lockdown protests took place, along with veterans trying to protect our statues, they were treated as “far right” hooligans by the police, who, strangely and conversely, appeared to PROTECT the interests of the aforementioned BLM/ER thugs. Cressida Dick, a Common Purpose robot, was previously awarded a “damehood”. For what? She – along with the ineffectually dreadful Sadiq Khan – has turned London into a dystopian hellhole. The London Assembly is monstrous – populated with Wokeist crazies hell bent on trashing London’s unique culture, again, going way beyond their remit by talking down anything remotely “English” and trashing everything that is not “multiculti”. Only a few decent assembly members, such as David Kurten and Peter Whittle, ever speak up for Londoners, only to get shouted down by politically correct bigots.
Decent ordinary people of this country, of all colours, are being treated as lepers just for expressing a viewpoint that doesn’t concur with the “Woke” narrative. We are banned from social media for the most innocuous comments, meanwhile, for instance, I reported comments on facebook that appeared to be of a terrorist nature but when I was contacted by the Metropolitan Police because I had reported them, I was treated as if I was the criminal!
This kind of thing is going on all the time: decent people being castigated, having to witness their culture and traditions trashed in front of them and even having to endure the likes of the Archbishop of Canterbury, now deciding which statues to remove from Canterbury Cathedral. He even had the temerity to shut down our Churches (something that wasn’t even done during both world wars) during the first lockdown. The British Museum and the Natural History Museum and many National Trust properties are now under scrutiny by their own Boards, in case anything on one of their sites “offends” some (usually white “woke”) self-appointed moral guardian of other people’s cultures. The removal of the statue of Charles Darwin, the Natural History Museum’s founder, is even being considered! There are numerous black political commentators around now, not to mention ordinary black people, who are sick and tired of this whole “BLM” victimhood ideology. It does not speak for them either! Your own Kemi Badenoch, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Equalities has herself spoken out against the practice of demonising white people, in a speech she made in the House in October.
History is history, it is there to be learned from, not unpicked and undone and then erased and rewritten in the “woke” narrative. The slave trade has gone on for centuries and not just as part of the British Empire, which actually did some GOOD as well as anything it did that was bad. Our Navy ended the slave trade but even that is being played down.
Why am I saying all this? The reason is, 2020 has been an unmitigated disaster for the people of this country: the devastating lockdowns which have resulted in thousands of excess deaths of people who were unable to get cancer operations and other treatments; suicides; spiralling domestic and child abuse; massive redundancies; families being torn apart; children’s education affected; police and “Covid” marshals – and even neighbours – being set on the public to penalise even the smallest transgressions; “big brother” style schemes; the possibility of enforced vaccinations and the devastating toll taken on the nation’s mental health, including mine I might add. And the less said about the disastrous test and trace debacle, the better.
We are constantly being dictated to about who we can and can’t see; what we can and can’t do and where we can and can’t go. We are told these actions are to reduce pressure on the NHS which has NOT ONCE been overwhelmed and if anything, has been under-servicing the people of this country if the excess death statistics are anything to go by (23,000 plus I think and that is not an exhaustive figure). During the first lockdown, the Health Service was so underwhelmed that the internet was alive with TikTok videos of nurses “twerking” around empty hospital wards, whilst sporting PPE – which was supposed to be in short supply!
The Covid death stats are confusing and I remember clearly on one week in September, seeing that Covid was way down the league on the deaths table, with cancer at the top, followed by dementia and heart disease. Deaths are being recorded as Covid related when they are clearly not. I have heard of families who have fought through the courts to have the word “Covid” removed from death certificates.
Then we have Boris dealing with Brexit. I am at a loss right now to even comprehend the stage these talks are at. The British people will not be bullied by the French, Brussels, or anyone else for that matter. Are we getting the “Australian-style” Brexit or not? No WAY should we be bullied into any kind of “deals” with French fishermen or anyone else for that matter. A clean break is what’s needed, with fair trade and NO special “concessions” for anybody. This farce must be ended the way those of us who voted for Brexit wanted it. OUT MEANS OUT! No “negotiations”. (We’re all out of them!)
If this Government can override the usual debate and vote method in Parliament to change Covid legislation overnight, it can handle all other interventions, be they about Brexit, illegal migrants or anything else.
And all the time, all of the above has been going on, the British people have further been insulted by this Government’s astonishing lack of interest in doing anything to curb the huge number of illegal migrants entering this country, many of whom are in this country STILL UNDETECTED; carrying God only knows what viruses, arms, drugs, or whatever. Add that to the BLM/ER “Woke Warriors” rampaging the streets, having raves on beaches, mosques open for business and certain parts of this country with high numbers of immigrants just going about their business as usual (I know because I have friends in London and other cities) and what you have is one huge two-fingered salute to the hard working, decent people of this country. And in that I include all immigrants who are entitled to be here and who are making a contribution and integrating. I am close to many of their points of entry. They walk through our town regularly and many escape detection via other routes.
I do hope you are not going to vote in favour of this ludicrous lockdown this week and I am still waiting to hear why you were not present at the Commons debate on illegal immigration.
I accept that there are people who are far worse off than me; I merely wanted you to have some perspective of what life is like for your constituents because I am hearing similar stories from other people all the time, some a lot worse.
Is repeatedly wrecking the economy beyond repair going to be a constant feature of this Government’s policies or is somebody going to start listening to other epidemiologist experts than Whitty and Vallance, who I believe, both have a financial stake in this and therefore it is in their interests to keep this charade going on for as long as possible. Also, there are other economics experts out there too. SOME members of the public are stupid; but the majority of us are NOT. We have eyes and ears and the ability to research things for ourselves.
Lockdowns clearly do NOT work; how about some common sense? Social distancing, hand washing, not gathering in large groups. How’s that for starters? Listen to Professor Sunetra Gupta, herself an eminent epidemiologist. She is one of many who speak common sense. They are out there, if only anybody inside the Westminster Bubble can be bothered to listen to them. Some have even put their findings before you all but they are IGNORED.
The collateral damage inflicted upon the people of this country can never be repaired. I predict that the Conservative Party will not win the next election. There are now numerous smaller parties that people will vote for and that will split the vote and result in somebody like Starmer ending up in the hot seat, which will be just as bad as Joe Biden being put in charge of the nuke button. God help us all!
The navel-gazing must stop and MPs must now ALL hold this Government to account because what I – and millions of others – can see down the road is not pretty. We are ALL heading for the edge of a very steep cliff – and I’m not referring to Dover either. There’s barely room there any more for anybody except the daily deluge of incoming illegal migrants, until, of course, they have been despatched to their 4-star hotels all over the country, with the prospect of a place to sleep and three meals a day whilst abusing yet more British taxpayers’ money to pay for their dinghy-chasing lawyers, whilst ex-servicemen sleep in shop doorways and old people and young families go without. The whole thing is NOT a JOKE. It has gone way beyond funny and it needs dealing with – POST HASTE.
I should like answers, particularly to my questions above about how you are going to vote on the second national lockdown and why you did not attend the illegal migrant debate. And when, oh when, will this Government start a mass clear-out of the “Woke Warriors” who are suffocating our culture, customs, traditions and our way of life, not to mention FULLY RESTORING that precious of all jewels – FREEDOM OF SPEECH?
Even a short walk to the local shops now involves being eyed warily by be-masked people, huddled under their scarves and hoodies, jumping off the pavement at the mere sight of another approaching person, hurrying along, in case somebody breathes in the wrong direction. I even see people driving their cars whilst wearing face muzzles. It’s insane! A nation of frightened and beleagured sheep. And the worst aspect of all – nobody can see an end to this.
This whole thing is quite monstrous. Absolutely unbelievable. I am not alone in feeling like I have stumbled into some parallel universe. When is order going to be restored? When are the Conservatives going to conserve? If we had wanted Marxism, Communism or even Socialism, we would have voted for it in December last year and put Corbyn and his assortment of anti-Semites, weirdoes and misfits in charge. So why are the left-wing lunatic Wokeocracy now in control of the asylum and why are ONLY the opinions of only perpetual doom-mongers Whitty and Vallance (AKA “The Science”) to be immediately acted upon, to the exception of all other experts? Seriously? You really couldn’t make this up!
