Western liberals like the idea of a China, but not China. They enjoy the idea of a technocratic, authoritarian regime that monitors the internet, suppresses free speech, controls the press and has a social credit system; directs the economy, daily business and spurs enormous infrastructure projects; builds mass state housing, and even control how families reproduce. What liberals don’t like about China is near everything else, and I’m not talking about pollution and animal cruelty.
Although they salivate at this form of state governance, they do not desire nations that are socially conservative, nationalistic, bound by honour & duty, and which are outright exclusionary to foreign ethnicities and cultures. In other words, they want their cake and to eat it too. It is one thing to have a government that is tyrannical, it is another to have one that is both tyrannical and destructive to its own nation. They crave the authority without the respect; nationalism without the nation.
I am not pro-China. However, we in the West need to understand that the CCP is supported by an extremely nationalistic population. Their brutality is not arbitrary, and is aimed at producing a healthy middle-class and expanding China economically. The social credit system is not designed to just keep the CCP in power, but to punish people who are having a detrimental impact to society. When the virus broke out in China, the CCP was willing to brutality control COVID-19 and suppress case numbers & deaths, for the simple goal of ensuring China’s growth. They were not interested in punishing citizens to pursue vanity, social justice or for some other abstract ideal.
Western liberals live in a narcissistic dream world, where they can somehow stop the virus whilst being egalitarian and non-discriminatory. The public are expected to be locked up, but we can’t stop protests against racial injustice. The borders are supposed to be monitored or closed, but illegal immigrants are bussed around for fun. The most fundamental opportunity to delay or stop the virus was missed in winter and spring by the inability to shut down borders, because our liberal, globalist establishment is literally incapable of enforcing any kind of in-group preference. Donald Trump has been labelled a racist for shutting borders and uncaring to not enforce tyrannical social controls. Madness.
The efforts made to ‘contain’ the virus are nothing more than a series of half-measures. Their functions are totally aimless and idealistic – not pragmatic. Our liberal government fetishizes technocratic and tyrannical governance, but only to serve the aims of egalitarianism, not to protect the nation from harm.
If the public was able to see the government pursue a nationalistic agenda – to stomp out all protests & riots, illegal immigration and crime, then the public would likely have more respect for their agenda. They’d see their aims as having an actual functional purpose, and not some bizarre fetishism for masks and movie-like drama.
How much longer are Western populations going to allow white liberals to destroy our nations to pursue a religious cult of egalitarianism?
