At the weekend grassroots pro-Brexit organisation UK Unity organised a series of successful demonstrations against the betrayal of the Brexit vote by the Tory Government. However because of misinformation spread by local newspapers and senior politicians the demonstrations were faced with massive counter demos by Antifa & other assorted organisations.
We can now reveal the contents of the email of complaint written by David Clews, Director of UK Unity, that has been sent to Clive Lewis MP & Leanne Wood AM.
Clive/ Leanne,
My name is David Clews and I am the founder of UK Unity. A grassroots organisation dedicated to ensuring we leave the EU. We organised a series of demos this weekend of what we perceive to be the betrayal of the Brexit vote by the Tory Government yet the two of you proceeded to besmirch the name of my organisation and encourage counter demonstrations against our volunteers and supporters.
Many elderly people have been in touch with me to say they were forced to leave these events in tears after being labelled ‘Nazi’s’ and ‘Racist Scum’ by supporters you had encouraged to get out.
As an organisation we completely eschew any racism and violence and always try to be polite and courteous. Leanne you accused us of ‘attacking Muslims’… how very dare you! Like many we are concerned with the rise of Islamic Extremism in this country but we have many Muslims who support us!
It looks to me like the two of you failed to do your research and blindly followed extremist elements within your areas who wish to shut down any opposition and free speech. A simple search of our website or social media would have shown that whilst we have views that many would disagree with they in no way cross the line over to what the two of you allude to.
This email is to inform you that I will be writing to both your party leaders about your behaviour and we are expecting full and frank apologies from you both. We will also be consulting with Lawyers about these potentially highly defamatory remarks.
I would like to leave you with the image below of Beryl that has now gone viral on Facebook & Twitter… this is who you are now calling a fascist and racist, take a good look at yourselves!

As of yet there has been no response from either Lewis and Wood and David Clews of UK Unity has now challenged both Leanne Wood & Clive Lewis with a head to head debate to confront these narrow minded, intolerant and highly inaccurate views that they hold.
