‘Black Lives Matter’ protests set to erupt across the UK

Protesters gathered in Peckham after the death of George Floyd in the USA as he was being arrested by police officers.

On the march, participants held placards reading ‘solidarity’ and ‘Black lives matter’.

The 46-year-old man had been placed in handcuffs but video shared online showed that one arresting officer held his knee on Mr Floyd’s neck for, reports say, up to nine minutes. A man has since been charged and riots have since erupted across the USA.
