A 38-year-old woman has sustained stab wounds to her arm and legs in an alleged attack on Sunday morning in Walker, Northumbria that saw an air ambulance dispatched.
Northumbria Police have arrested a 32-year-woman in connection with the incident.
An air ambulance was called to help treat a woman that had been stabbed in Walker, police and paramedics, along with the air ambulance helicopter, were called to help the 38-year-old woman in Wardroper House.
The wounded woman was taken to hospital with horrific injuries to her legs and arm.
A force spokesperson said:
At 9.52am yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of concern for a woman in Wardroper House, Walker.
Officers attended and found a 38-year-old woman with wounds consistent with a stabbing.
