BOMBSHELL as Labour Party draws up secret plans to REVERSE Brexit!

According to a shock headline in the left leaning Mirror Newspaper:

Senior Labour MP says: ‘Just because something is done, it doesn’t mean it can’t be undone’ in move to provide a back-up plan if Jeremy Corbyn fails in bid to lead national unity government

It apppears from social media chatter that certain Blairite Labour MPs are ready to punce if Jeremy Corbyn fails in his bid to lead a national unity government.

A unity coalition of anti-Brexit politicians would need to be formed by early September to have any hope of stopping PM Boris Johnson crashing the UK out of the EU without a deal on October 31.

But a senior Labour MP has told the newspaper:

Brexit has torn up the constitutional rulebook.

So just because something is done it doesn’t mean it can’t be undone.

So once Article 50 is ­triggered we can pass ­legislation to untrigger it.

To reverse Article 50 – the legal mechanism by which the UK leaves the EU – would also need EU approval.

But constitution expert Professor Vernon Bogdanor of King’s College London also told the paper: “The EU gets around a treaty when it wants to. And the British parliament is sovereign so it can pass retrospective legislation.”

Mr Corbyn has proposed himself as caretaker PM while MPs pass laws to block no deal and hold an election with many senior Tory Remainers agreeing to hold talks with the Labour leader. Figures such as Ken Clarke and Harriet Harman have also been mooted as possible Prime Ministers as a febrile atmosphere grips Westminster.

If the Labour Party does try and win power on the promise to halt Brexit it would cause serious problems for them in their leave voting Northern heartlands.
