UNN understands the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests, 10 days after testing positive for coronavirus.
A Downing Street spokeswoman confirmed the PM “continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus”, his hospital trip is being described as a “precautionary step” taken on the advice of his doctor.
The Prime Minister is still leading the government response to the COVID-19 outbreak, it is understood.
Piers Morgan Tweeted the news saying “BREAKING: British Prime Minister @BorisJohnson admitted to hospital tonight for tests due to persistent #coronavirus symptoms 10 days after testing positive.
“Worrying development – he’s looked worse each time we’ve seen him, poor guy. Wish him well.”

Just three hours ago the Prime Minister posted on Twitter saying: “Thank you for doing your bit in the fight against #coronavirus. Stay home, protect the NHS and save lives. #StayHomeSaveLives”.
