A search has been launched by law enforcement in the United Kingdom after a convicted killer and burglar absconded from an open prison in South Yorkshire after leaving on Christmas eve.
Ryan Hill, left Hatfield Open Prison on Christmas Eve and has not returned, Police confirmed.
Now aged 41, Hill was jailed for manslaughter in 2008 and was recalled to prison for burglary in 2019.
South Yorkshire Police said he was known to have links to the Wakefield and Upton areas, as well as Milton Keynes and Sowerby, near Thirsk.

South Yorkshire Police said prison staff became aware that he was missing at around 10.30pm on Thursday, December 24.
The force said ‘extensive enquiries have been carried out to try and locate him’ but he has not yet been tracked down. Hill is 6ft 3ins tall, of a medium build and had blond hair.
One of his front teeth is missing and he has a number of tattoos including one saying ‘BULLDOG BULLDOG BREED OGGY’ on his right arm.
Members of the public are urged not to approach him but to dial 999 if he is spotted. Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 64 of December 25.
