In an article dated 21st of October 2019 I wrote an article detailing social media rumours that David Lammy may have paid for Season Tickets at Tottenham Hotspur or purchased Champions League Tickets.
I also wrote at the end of the article: “UNN must state that should Mr Lammy be able to show the expense was perfectly legitimate Oliver Down will be more than happy to apologise to Mr Lammy personally.”
Mr Lammy’s office have been in touch and directed us to the following tweet:
I suggest you delete this defamatory tweet and apologise. As you will clearly see if you click on the expense claim details, this £500 was for my constituency office insurance. The building I rent is owned by Tottenham Hotspur, who are major landowners in north Tottenham. pic.twitter.com/mOloWhhfsd

As you can see above Mr Lammy has provided the details requested and being true to my word I offer an apology to Mr Lammy.
