Did the refugee crisis affect German public security?

The public security is one of the most important expectations of citizens as public security is a critical condition for the progress of society (countries with high public security have better economic performance and equally have low crime rates). However, wrong politics of a state can create worse quality of live. That is exactly what happened in Germany. 

A question that divides the Western world

Matthey Karnitsching, Politico’s chief correspondent in Europe said that “when Angela Merkel agreed to take thousands of refugees who took refuge in Hungary’s main train station in 2015 she saw it as a humanitarian action and a gesture of European solidary”. She hoped that the other EU countries would also “do their part” and take a certain number of refugees. However, that did not happen and divided Europe into two parts: the West which was quite willing to share solidary and the Eastern Europe where politicians openly criticized such EU policies.

However, attempts have been made to unite Europe in supranational EU structures by introducing quotas for migrants which were to to create clear conditions for all EU countries to accept migrants. George Soros also saw migrant quotas and open borders as a rescue plan for the European Union. In addiction, a leaked Open Society Foundation document said that the European refugee crisis needs to be accepted as a “new norm” and that the refugee crisis represents a “new opportunity” for Soros to influence global migration policy. The same positions between Soros foundation and the EU is nothing unexpected. George Soros Foundation have published a 177-page book detailing 226 trusted “allies” working in the European Parliament. This means that at least a third of the seats in the EU parliament were held by George Soros “reliable allies”.

Same political positions between Soros foundation and the EU is nothing unexpected. This means that at least a third of the seats in the parliament are held by Soros Foundation “reliable allies”.

However, the quotas system that was created in the EU supranational structures did not work and provoked a second existential referendum in the EU, this time in Hungary. During this referendum voters were asked “would you like the European Union to have the right to compulsorily transfer non-Hungarian citizens to Hungary even without the consent of the National Assembly (Parliament)?”. It is true that although the referendum is considered to have failed because 44% of Hungarian voters came to express their will, more than 98% of the voters responded negatively to the EU migration policy. In this way Hungarian citizens supported the position of their government to oppose refugee quotas. After all, as Matthey Karnitsching said “with the record influx of refugees into Germany, the rest of Europe only became more convinced that it did not want to be a part of Merkel’s humanitarian mission”.

The refugee crisis and it’s ideological shadows

The current key argument for open borders is based on the premise that the population of the Western world is aging, so the Western world must accept migrants in order to pay pensions to the Western world citizens. This sounds fair if we turn a blind eye to the fact that we are moving towards the implementation of automation. Finally we do not know how much it costs to keep economic migrants across the Western world. Going a step back to the key argument for open borders we must remember that we must have information about the diplomas and qualifications of the people to come to Europe or US in name create economic prosperity. Unfortunately we hardly know anything about the people who are already among us in UK, US and across the Western world. This is evidenced by a clear fact. In 2016 according to Europol there are between 3,000 and 5,000 people in the EU alone who have been trained by ISIS and that currently live in Europe. Another important aspect is that it is difficult for these people to be “refugees” in the light of the 1951 definition of refugees under Geneva Convention. Finally there is no secret that moost of so-called Syrian war refugees are not even from Syria: DailyMail reported that only one in five Syrian refugees is really from Syria.

The challenge of public security

The link between changes in public security and the emergence of refugees is quite obvious. The most striking example of this in 2015-16 New Year’s Eve celebrations in Germany where more than 1,250 women in at least twelve cities were sexually assaulted. But most importantly, a few days after the attacks, many German national media reluctant to investigate the possible links between the attacks and the influx of refugees, as naming the perpetrators is reminiscent of the emphasis on perpetrators in Nazi Germany. 

In 2015 the Allesbach Institute conducted a research which found that 53% of German citizens said that they did not believe that their media provided realistic information on refugee classification, employment opportunities and so on. And they were absolutely right about that.

As many as 40% of the population of a country that still suffers from the shame of World War II crimes admit that mainstream media is bias on the refugee issue. They are right, because even journalists in the mass German media admit the fact that they deliberately concealed the nationality of the perpetrators. Doesn’t the claim that the mainstream media is Fake News sound convincing after all? 

So we can conclude that the refugee crisis has affect German public security in a negative way. A leaked report from the German Federal Criminal Police Agency revealed that in 2014-15 arrivals from third world countries in Germany carried out more than 200,000 arrests. That says everything.
