Reports have emerged that suggest that the dance troupe ‘Diversity’ are being scouted out for a Britain’s Got Talent Christmas special. This comes after the group’s Black Lives Matter routine has racked up nearly 23,000 Ofcom complaints, which is a record number of complaints in a 48-hour period.
However, it is now being claimed that BGT bosses are looking to book ‘Diversity’ to star in an upcoming one-off special which will see them return to the stage alongside some of the show’s biggest stars, including Susan Boyle.
A show insider has said: ‘Some of the biggest acts in BGT history will be coming back to perform with another act, whether it’s a singer, magician or even an animal act. The idea is that they will collaborate and create a unique, one-off performance for fans. Top of the wish list at ITV are Diversity, Susan Boyle, and magical Marc Spelmann’.
The huge amount of complaints regarding the ‘Diversity’ routine puts the controversial performance just behind Celebrity Big Brother’s ‘punchgate’ which received 25,237 objections in 2018, after Roxanne Pallett falsely accused Ryan Thomas of hitting her.
One Twitter user @SuperBoab reacted to the latest news regarding ‘Diversity’ by tweeting: “Well that is one program I will not be watching. Boycott this program and all that are sponsoring it”.
