Over a quarter of a million people say they’ll attend a rave outside Number 10 on Christmas Eve following growing anger over the Downing Street Christmas party scandal.
A Facebook event has been set up for a mass party at the gates of Downing Street in the wake of the scandal engulfing the prime minister.
A further 400,000 people are ‘interested’ in attending a ‘Christmas rave’ organised by DJ John Mancini, with people urged to ‘bring who you like’ and ‘bring your own nibbles and drink’.
The news follows after the prime minister was forced to apologise for a video in which his staff joked about the subject, new rules were introduced designed to ‘slow the spread of Omicron.’
The Plan B measures include the introduction of Covid-19 passports for nightclubs and other venues.
Lockdown sceptic Tory MP William Wragg has accused the prime minister of introducing the measures as a ‘diversion’ tactic amid anger at conduct in Downing Street.
Former chief whip Mark Harper responded to the new rules in the Commons by saying: ‘Why should people at home listening to the prime minster and the secretary of state do things that people working in Number 10 Downing Street are not prepared to do?’
