Jo Swinson married a fellow Lib Dem MP, Duncan Hames, in a humanist ceremony in 2011. The couple welcomed their first child in December 2013 and their second was born in June 2018.
In his current role as Acting Executive Director at Transparency International UK, Hames’ LinkedIn profile describes him as: “Fighting corruption by day, studying internal audit reports by night…
“Duncan leads the policy, advocacy and research teams of Transparency International UK, the British chapter of the worldwide anti-corruption movement.
“A chartered management accountant, he also serves as a Non-Executive Director of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, chairing their audit committee. ”
He was the MP for the Chippenham constituency in Wiltshire from 2010 to 2015 and served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Nick Clegg when he was Deputy Prime Minister. Following his defeat at the 2015 general election, Mr Hames chose not to stand for re-selection as the Lib Dem candidate in the Chippenham constituency.
Speaking to The Telegraph in April 2015, Mr Hames said once they were expecting their first child he realised something in his career had to change.
He decided to sacrifice his position as parliamentary aide to Mr Clegg.
Speaking of this, he told The Telegraph: “It was something I wanted to do to give me a bit more space – so I could be a new dad while supporting Jo at the same time, without my constituents missing out.
“Nick completely understood, but there were people who suggested to me that they didn’t think it was necessary.”
He added: “There have been times when I’ve needed to look after Andrew, or collect him from nursery when he wasn’t well, and the Whips’ Office would have to work with that.
“I don’t think colleagues anticipated the things that I was going to need to do.”

Now a forensic analysis of their accounts undertaken by the UNN Team can reveal that not only has Mr Hames organisation taken money from the EU they have also received significant donations from ‘Open Society’ which is the controversial international financier George Soros’s organisation.
As you can see above they receive Grants from numerous NGO’s but the ones that stand out are the Open Society Policy Centre who have £167,000 last year to the ‘UK Anti-Corruption Programme’. Over the last two years their Defence & Security Programme has also received donations from other Open Society organisations. Look at some of the other countries involved in supporting this organisation such as the Netherlands, Sweden & The United Nations.
Whilst it is important to recognise that Transparency International are completely open about their funding sources it is in relation to Ms Swinson that many on social media have expressed anger. The Swinson household has a husband who works for an organisation that openly admits to receiving donations from the EU and now as we can exclusively reveal George Soros’ organisation. Why do the mainstream media not talk about this? Why do they not caveat this when they introduce Ms Swinson on the TV? Look at the way they are attempting to smear Boris Johnson and ask if there is an agenda at play?
