Dave Sumner is a well known political activist who is always to be seen at every pro-British demo that takes place. He famously wears a suit, red tie & Donald Trump mask to emulate his hero the President of the USA.
Dave is a plasterer and also a doting father of one and at the weekend he was speaking at the pro-Brexit rally in Leeds where hundreds turned out in support of Brexit despite the opposition of Remainers & Antifa being there.
Details of what happened are sketchy but after the event Dave went to the Pub and had some quiet drinks with fellow Brexit supporters when on his way home with his colleague Zac he was then jumped and set upon. He had his head kicked and has been taken to hospital where he was told that he will have to have a shoulder injury.
Antifa Leeds quickly took credit for the attack as well as that on his friend Zac:
As a self employed person he will now be out of work and will be struggling to pay his bills in the lead up to Christmas. Grassroots campaign UK Unity who helped organise the event on Saturday said:
We deplore all violence and intimidation and this despicable attack on Dave is disgusting. Far Left activists are becoming increasingly emboldened as to what they can do in this country and all political violence must end NOW!
Dave is a decent hard working lad and for him to be out of work at this time is crushing but knowing Dave he would be too proud for people to ask for help.
A group of activists have got together to set up a crowdfund which we have already donated to and if you can chip in to help Dave and Zac at this difficult time it would be a big help to them.
