Prominent and respected Brexit campaigner Steven Edginton is the Chief Strategist for Leave Means Leave and is heavily involved with The Brexit Party. He has just written the following on the well respected online Journal ‘Brexit Central’:
Up until Chequers, I was blind to any idea of a sell-out over our armed forces, as were most MPs I have spoken to. How could this even be an issue? It wasn’t in the mainstream news, Brexiteer MPs weren’t concerned, we had Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary – we appeared to be in safe hands.As it turns out I was completely wrong.
To sum up an extremely complex situation: Theresa May has signed up the UK to EU defence institutions meaning continued vast annual payments to Brussels, giving away control over major aspects of defence and foreign policy and all this has the power to undermine NATO.
In response to this along with the PESCO (Permanent Structured Co-Operation) declaration many forces campaigners have simply had enough. It is inferred via many Article 50 experts that if Theresa May’s deal does make it through Parliament we will automatically be signed up to this.
We have since received the following correspondence from Mr. Tony Woodcock who is a prominent campaigner. The letter has been sent to Tobias Ellwood who is the Bournemouth East MP and Under Secretary of state for Defence People & Veterans:

Subject: THE UK HAS NOW SIGNED UP TO THE EU DEFENCE AGENDA
Dear Mr. Ellwood,
I have asked you many, many times, as you are a Defence Minister and therefore part of the Defence Team involved in this, to comment or explain what is going on here. So far, you have not even given me, as your constituent, even the courtesy of an acknowledgement of my requests for explanation of what is happening to our Military.
Do you really think that is an acceptable way for a constituency representative, who ought to believe in open and accountable government, to behave?
THIS IS A MAJOR SCANDAL
– WHY HAS MAY HANDED UK DEFENCE CONTROL TO THE EU –
– WITHOUT GETTING PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL ?PLEASE have the courtesy to explain what is going on.
