How to solve the recruitment crisis

There is nothing like declaring that we may need to return to conscription, or a ‘citizens’ army’ as it is euphemistically called, to turn warmongers into pacifists. There has not exactly been overwhelming support for this—especially from the people who would be required to fight—if conscription become necessary to assemble enough forces to repel the Russian hordes as well as quell those pesky Islamists in the Middle East. Apart, that is, from Boris Johnson saying he’d sign up at the drop of a woman’s underpants which drew a wry comment from David Clews of Unity News Network that his biggest risk would be from friendly fire.

The people calling for conscription are largely the same people who support the wars in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. They ardently support Ukraine and Israel and will countenance no criticism of either country or the corrupt leadership that both countries have in place. These people are also, largely, people who would not have to risk their own necks in the event of a conflict. They are either too old or too unfit and, in any case, have absolutely no intention of donning a uniform and heading to anywhere where the ‘metal to air ratio’ is higher than normal.

But there is always a solution, and one might be at hand. While less evident these days we all remember the days when people adorned their houses with Ukrainian flags and public buildings were festooned—many still are—with flags and other accoutrements showing their support for Ukraine. My own former employer, the University of Hull, when not flying an LGBTQwerty flag puts a Ukraine flag up the pole along with many other universities.

Well, the army recruiting team should visit every house which is flying or flew (CTTV footage will help here) a Ukrainian flag and demand that everyone (women as well as men – this is an inclusive army) between the ages of 18 to 50 should report at the nearest army barracks for assessment with a possible view to being shipped over to the Russian border. Naturally, they will be required to display a Ukrainian flag at all times. That’s the Russians sorted.

Turning to the Middle East, while there is plenty of anti-Israel propaganda on social media, there is also a great deal of support for Israel and, especially, support for their bloody prosecution of war in the Gaza strip. That is often accompanied by vile verbal abuse towards people who raise even the mildest questions about Israel’s actions asking if, perhaps, they’ve gone a tad over the top with the wholesale destruction of communities with the deaths—depending on your source—exceeding 20,000 people. According to Reuters it is nearer 17,500. A staggering 1.9 million Gazans have been displaced.

Well, all the army recruiting team needs to do is to trawl social media accounts for comments supporting Israel’s continuing slaughter of innocent civilians and pay them a visit. After all the army’s own 77th Brigade effectively monitored dissenters during the Covid ‘pandemic’ and even the English Premier League has a secret unit—the ‘stadium Stasi’—which is monitoring registered supporters for non-crime hate postings on social media, compiling detailed dossiers and reporting them to clubs. One such supporter, a gender critical lesbian, has been reported to Newcastle United Football Club and banned for three years. I imagine we’ll soon be able to send a few battalions over to the Middle East.

Mind you, with the current state of our Gen Zers who would form the bulk of a revitalised British Army we may have a few problems. Quoting immodestly from my recent article in The New Conservative we may see the formation of ‘the Transgender Tank Regiment, the Non-Binary Bomb Squad and, taking up the rear, a newly reformed regiment of the Gay Hussars.’ All the enemy needs to do is to arm itself with microaggressions and misgendering pronouns.
