UNN has been exposing the hypocrisy at the heart of The Liberal Democrats over both Brexit and their sources of funding. The Sunday Times has now picked up on what we first reported early on Saturday:
“A pharmaceutical firm that markets drugs used in gender-identity clinics to delay puberty has given £100,000 to the Liberal Democrats.
Jo Swinson’s party has already upset feminists, who worry that the “extreme trans-ideological” policies in its manifesto will put vulnerable women at risk.
According to the Electoral Commission register, the Lib Dems received the payment on November 22 from Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
The firm, owned by the Swedish billionaire Frederik Paulsen, markets the drug triptorelin, which is used to block puberty among adolescents.
The Lib Dem manifesto pledges “complete reform of the Gender Recognition Act to remove the requirement for medical reports, scrap the fee and recognise non-binary gender identities”.
UNN can now go one step further than even the old media and reveal that the mysterious Swiss domiciled Swedish owner of Ferring Pharmaceuticals also sits on the board of the world’s largest tobacco firm Phillip Morris International as you can see below:
He is also the Chairman of Schlumberger AG which is Austria’s largest producer of Sparkling wine, again it is very interesting that the Chairman of a Pharmaceuticals company should sit on the board of both a Tobacco & alcohol manufacturer.

We note that the Lib Dems received a donation of £100,000 from Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Two questions in relation to this: 1- The main company and its Chair is domiciled in Switzerland to take advantage of its tax regime, does this fit with the ethos of the Liberal Democrats? 2- Frederik Paulsen sits on the board of Philip Morris International the tobacco company. How does this sit with the values of the Liberal Democrats?

The response from The Liberal Democrats was as follows:
“Ferring Pharmaceuticals is a long-standing supporter of the Liberal Democrats. Liberal Democrat party policy is determined by members via working groups and at party conference.”
As you can see above the Lib Dem Press Team merely responded with the same response that they gave to The Sunday Times and are happy to confirm Ferring is a ‘long-standing’ supporter of the party.

As the most anti-Brexit party in the UK it is only right that the Lib Dems should face sufficient scrutiny. The question we at UNN ask is why with budgets in the billions are the BBC & Channel 4 incapable of doing proper journalism and investigating these links? The answer could possibly lie with the fact that our state broadcasters are seen by many as being completely anti-Brexit hence the silence on this matter.
