A furore erupted after a review of grooming gangs promised by former home secretary Sajid Javid was said to be only “internal”.
In response to the petition, a spokesperson said the “fact-finding work” would inform an upcoming strategy on child sexual abuse.
“As part of our work, we have completed a review of existing literature,” a statement added.
“We have spoken to investigators and safeguarding professionals to better explore the challenges in investigating these crimes and their understanding of the offenders and victims of group-based child sexual exploitation.”
However a furore erupted since with many people from all walks of life and religions demanding this report be released in order that justice and truth may prevail for the underage victims of these heinous crimes.
Now Catherine Mckinnell, who is chair of the petitions committee, has written to Priti Patel and Jacob Rees Mogg demanding action:
Dear Priti ,
I am writing to request a revised Government response to e-petition 300239, calling on the Government to release the Home Office’s Grooming Gang Review in full. My Committee considered your department’s response to this petition at its meeting on Tuesday 5 May, and agreed that it did not directly address the request made by the petitioner, and therefore did not meet the standard for Government responses that has been agreed with the Leader of the House. Your department’s response explains the Government’s current work on child sexual abuse, which includes investigating the characteristics of group-based child sexual exploitation, and states that this work will inform the Government’s forthcoming strategy. However, the response fails to respond to the petitioner’s request for this work to be published. My Committee has already received a significant volume of correspondence complaining about the Government’s response, and I am sure that your department has been receiving similar correspondence directly. Your department’s response to this petition was also substantially late. A response to this e-petition was requested on 6 March, but not received until 24 April. It has been agreed with the Leader of the House that the Government will respond within 21 days, making your response four weeks late. I fully appreciate that the Government is currently under significant pressure, but it is disappointing to receive a late response that also fails to adequately respond to the petition.

I am therefore writing on behalf of the Committee to request a revised response that directly responds to the request made by the petition. This should clearly state whether the Government will publish its research into the characteristics of group-based child sexual exploitation. If the Government does plan to publish this, your response should set out in what form and when. If the Government does not plan to publish this, your response should explain the reasons for this. I would be grateful if you could provide a revised response before the House rises for Whitsun, on Wednesday 20 May, given the substantial time that signatories to this petition have already been waiting for the Government response. I am copying this letter to the Leader of the House, with whom the standards for Government responses and timeframes within which these should be provided have been agreed.

“Tackling child sexual abuse is this Government’s priority. Any insights gained from our internal work will inform our future action to end this devastating abuse, including the forthcoming Strategy.
Child sexual abuse is a truly horrendous crime that shatters the lives of victims and their families. This Government has made it our mission to protect the most vulnerable in our society, and we will continue to work tirelessly at every level to protect children, support victims and stamp out offending.
Our approach is simple: we will do everything in our power to help those at risk and to leave offenders with no place to hide.
First, we have improved support for those who have suffered this appalling crime. We have increased funding for specialist local services for victims of sexual violence from £8 million to £12 million a year. Those affected have our unequivocal support, so we have also doubled our Support for Victims and Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse fund to £1.2 million, to help charities do more to help people across the country.
Second, the vile offenders preying on our children must face justice. The Home Office continues to support and drive improvements in the police response to child sexual abuse. We have prioritised this horrific crime as a national threat to ensure offenders face the full force of the law and provided significant Police Transformation Fund investment to improve the police response. Group offending must be eradicated, and we continue to provide Special Grant funding to forces carrying out major child sexual exploitation investigations.
Last September, we announced an additional £30 million to strengthen our mission to take down the worst offenders and safeguard and support victims. We continue to look for ways to do more and are developing a cross-government Child Sexual Abuse Strategy to ensure the whole system works for victims. The Strategy will set out how we will work across all sectors – including government, law enforcement, safeguarding and industry – to stop offenders in their tracks, and to help victims and survivors rebuild their lives.

Group-based child sexual exploitation is a particularly repugnant form of abuse that has a devasting impact on villages, towns and communities, particularly where it has gone on for years. These unthinkable crimes tear neighbourhoods apart and leave lasting scars that go beyond the direct victims. Extremists may also seek to exploit legitimate concerns to sow further division. The Government will continue to challenge these views and to help communities unite.
Child sexual abusers come from all walks of life, and from many different age groups, communities, ethnicities and faiths. Abuse is abuse, and misplaced sensitivities must never be allowed to put any child at risk. We are clear that police forces must continue to fully investigate these heinous crimes whenever and wherever they occur, and to ensure that anyone found responsible is prosecuted.
To help end this terrible form of abuse, the Home Office has been investigating the characteristics of group-based child sexual exploitation. It is right, proper and routine for the Government to carry out internal fact-finding work as part of policy development, as we do across a range of crime threats. Any insights gained from this important internal work will be used to inform our future action to end this devastating abuse, including the forthcoming Strategy.
Our research will help us better understand offending, to help prevent these vile crimes. Key findings will inform our own work, action at a local level, and law enforcement action to catch those responsible for this horrific abuse.

So there we have it the Government are refusing the public’s demand to release their official research on predominantly Muslim Grooming Gangs.
You will see from the long-winded response that they have generalised the issue failing to even address the religion or ethnicity of the perpetrators and thrown a couple of extra million quid at the problem.
Effectively the very Institutions who let down thousands of young victims are being thrown a few extra million of taxpayers money in the hope the problem goes away.
They end this piece of carefully scripted garbage with the age old adage “LESSONS WILL BE LEARNED”
What an absolute insult to the victims and concerned people of this country.
Sadly for many the abuse continues to this day and a woman who claims that she was beaten and gang-raped over 100 times by a gang of Pakistani origin has spoken out about the racist abuse she is receiving online. The women, who uses an online alias, states on Twitter that she was attacked and abused by grooming gangs as part of the Rotherham child sexual exploitation (CSE) scandal. In addition to this ‘Ella’ (which is not the women’s real name) has criticised Twitter for failing to deal with abuse from “far-left groups”, which ‘Ella’ believes is racially and religiously motivated.
‘Ella’ is quoted in the Yorkshire Examiner as saying “On Twitter I get a lot of abuse from far-left extremists, and radical feminist academics. There is one group who go online and they try to resist anyone they consider to be a Nazi, racist, fascist or white supremacist. They don’t care about anti-white racism, because they appear to believe that it doesn’t exist. They tried to shut me down, shut me up and drive me off Twitter. I’ve never experienced such hate online in my life. They accuse me of ‘advocating for white paedophiles’ and being a ‘sinister demonic entity.’”
‘Ella’s’ abuse started over 20 years ago when she was still a teenager. The ordeal began when a man of Pakistani origin, who was 15 years older than her, approached her on a street and invited her out to dinner. From this point, the ‘man’ then beat her, raped her and pulled her hair out as well as taking her to different houses for other men.
Ella has said: “I was nearly killed about five times, and then eventually I was hospitalised with lots of injuries and the police told my parents to move me away and change my name. They have never moved back to Yorkshire since”. ‘Ella’ states she was victimised because she was “a white girl looking for a boyfriend”. As part of this horrific crime ‘Ella also says “I was called a barrage of racist names. They called me a white s**g, a white c***, a white whore, a white b***h and a f****** gori which is their name for a white person”.
‘Ella’ has reported what she believes is racially abusive tweet to Twitter. The Tweet, that has subsequently been deleted said “There is a virus that is a thousand times more deadly than #COVID19: The White Virus. Carriers tend to be hideously ugly (within and without), hideously selfish, hideously inferior and hideously white. Never underestimate the malice and ugliness of these “people”.
