People should get vaccinated against Covid-19 to “look after their neighbours,” according to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Justin Welby says he does not support making vaccination mandatory and it should be an approach of encouragement and incentivisation rather than condemnation.
He said: “Condemning people doesn’t do much good, apart from anything else, but also it increases the general sense of anger that comes at a time of insecurity and fear and grief.
“I think we need to be encouraging to people to look after their neighbours.”
He quoted Jesus that you should “love your neighbour as yourself”, adding: “So, if you do that, it seems to me you go and get vaccinated.”
