Carl Beech also known by the pseudonym ‘Nick’ has been found guilty of perverting the course of justice as well as fraud. He was found guilty of making up fictional tales and attempting to ravage the lives and reputations of some of Britain’s most decorated public politicians and police officers amongst others. The judge Daniel Janner QC also rapped Labour deputy leader Tom Watson when he called him a “paedo-finder general” and accused him of creating “moral panic” for his high profile backing of Mr Beech.
Mr Beech’s abhorrent lies were thoroughly investigated by Scotland Yard as part of a £2.5million taxpayer-funded ‘operation midland’. Former Home Secretary in Margret Thatcher’s Conservative government Lord Brittan passed away before being cleared of suspicion. Mr Beech a former NHS manager will, without doubt, be seen as one of Britain’s most monstrous liars following his conviction at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday. It now seems inevitable that Mr Beech will spend significant time in prison in prison.

In addition to this last year Carl Beech was found guilty of possessing child porn images and was dubbed a ‘committed and manipulative’ paedophile by the judge ruling on the case. Tom Watson had been a long-term advocator of Mr Beech’s case, back in October 2012 Mr Watson stated in the House of Commons that he had “clear intelligence suggesting a powerful paedophile network linked to Parliament and No 10.” Tom Watson also met with Mr Beech in 2014 which gave him the opportunity to state to police that he had “little group supporting me” Mr Watson has currently not apologised for his role in this scandal.
Former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor was one of those falsely accused. He has described this investigation as a “truly disgraceful chapter in the history of British policing”, which has uncovered “internal failings at the highest level” and has topped a string of negative stories emerging about the Met Police in the last week. Mr Beech told the court he had seen some horrendous things during his childhood, including rape, torture and murder.

However subsequent facts have established that in fact, he had a comfortable and privileged middle-class upbringing. It is clear that Mr Beech was desperate for attention and money and his story of a VIP paedophile ring could give him just that. He was awarded £22,000 from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, despite no one ever being convicted of a crime against him.
This comes against the backdrop that the ‘lion of London bridge’ was denied such help due to his previous criminal record. Mr Beech’s allegations came to lights just months after it was revealed they had missed several chances to investigate paedophile Jimmy Savile’s who never saw his day in court.
