London’s cabbies will take veterans to cenotaph and back free of charge

Sunday 10th December 2019, remembrance Sunday. Britain’s chance to pay their respects and honour and fallen in order to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today. Many will be unaware of the role of London’s black cab taxi drivers on remembrance  Sunday. Huge numbers of black cabs will be taking the veterans from Waterloo station to the cenotaph and back for free. This happens every year, but the MSM never cover it. UNN says good on you the London cabbies!

LBC spoke this year with a London taxi driver Mike Hughes. Mike was asked how he got involved with the transportation of the veterans and replied: “I went to the Victory Services Club and I went in and said, ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to give you a free service and they were completely surprised. Now, it’s word of mouth and I also, every year, send a message out to the British Legion who then send our information out with the tickets”. The knowledge that this happens is likely to give an uplifting feel to the British public with the news that the men and women who have sacrificed so much are being looked after in this way. 

Tweets are doing the rounds on social media with huge praise for those involved in this process. @jim1348 replied on Twitter “When it really matters, the people of the UK really show what being British is all about. Well done cabbies. I hope you get more coverage and real recognition for your selfless efforts”. UNN completely utters the sentiments of the gentleman and Oliver Down personally thanks these taxi drivers. Lest we Forget!
