The Member of Parliament for Rutherglen and Hamilton West since 2019, Margaret Ferrier has appeared in court charged with culpable and reckless conduct after allegedly breaching Covid regulations.
She is a member of the Scottish National Party, but since 1 October 2020 has been suspended for the alleged breach.
The 60-year-old made no plea during the two-minute appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court and she was bailed pending further examination.
At the time of the alleged breach hitting the news, Ms Ferrier apologised after admitting she had taken a test after experiencing “mild symptoms”.
But she said she had then decided to travel to Westminster from Scotland by train because she was “feeling much better”.
She then travelled home again on a train after receiving the positive test result and said she “deeply regretted” her actions.
