President of the National Rally Marine Le Pen has pledged she will give the French people a referendum on current immigration levels into France if successful in next year’s presidential election.
In a debate held on Thursday evening against the incumbent French interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, Le Pen announced, “it is up to the French to take a stand on this deregulated legal immigration, not to mention massive illegal immigration which causes major problems of insecurity.”

She also attacked the current En Marche administration for being soft on Islamic extremists, telling the interior minister: “We must tackle it, name the evil and use all the means of State to eradicate it.”
The news comes off the back of a Harris run-off poll last month put Le Pan just two points short of commanding a majority of support in the final round of voting for the French presidency when facing off against current pro-EU French President Emmanuel Macron.
