First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford says the current Covid situation in Wales is the best in the UK thanks to the actions taken by his Government.
He defends his “more cautious” stance, with more restrictions in place than England over the past few weeks, as a “step-by-step approach, in line with the science”.
“We’re a government that doesn’t need to grab headlines to distract attention from difficulties.”
“The UK government has long abandoned any sense that it is following the science; it is a government desperately mired in difficulties of its own making.”
Drakeford added that the approach of his government has “kept Wales safe, and kept Wales open”.
